That was most enjoyable :-) An interesting take on the whole ascension idea - and a perfectly logical outcome of the whole idea because *of course* the whole higher plane thing would be a challenge to a fundamentalist. Very nicely written, too - very even handed. I felt so sorry for Bierle, and considering how utterly opposed his views were to mine, that's good writing :-)
I loved Jack wetting his finger and holding it up to feel for a breeze - so utterly Jack and the image made me LOL.
Oh my gosh, I'm jazzed to see your feedback for my little story and so happy you enjoyed it! I rarely post on my LJ (as you may have noticed *bg*), and I posted this so long ago, I forgot about it.
The idea had been stewing in my mind for a few years following a discussion thread about Daniel's ascension. And Biblio's planting the idea back in my head and suggestion to write it got things moving. :-)
I know what you mean about fundamentalists - I have little to no patience for them. I'd asked Darcy to give it a once-over to make sure I wasn't being overly harsh or unfair. So I appreciate that you felt Bierle, despite his rigid and intolerant sentiments, was still sympathetic.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, Cats! It means so much coming from one of my favorite Jack/Daniel writers. :-)
