Before HBP, I would have been one of the first to say nothing other than maybe a courteous peck on the cheek after the Yule Ball happened. This is primarily because I wanted Ron and Hermione to be each other's first kiss, unrealistic though it was.
But then the Lavender fiasco happened, and all because of Ginny's little admission. Hermione and Ginny are good friends, and I imagine that they had some girl talk after the Yule Ball/Yule Brawl. Although I think Ginny was exaggerating when she said Hermione and Krum had "snogged," I'm willing to bet a kiss or two may have occured. However, I also firmly believe that whatever happened in the fourth year is very much over and done with by the sixth.
Oh, Mia. You just had to start with the most aggravating question of the lot, didn't you?
The fact is that I change my mind all the time on this one. Some days I think that Snape was acting on Dumbledore's orders. Others I'm positive he was on Voldemort's side all along. And there are times when I'm sure that Snape is a free agent, working only for his own benefit.
Whatever the result, I think that Snape is a goner in book seven. I have to say I won't feel terribly sad when he does die, as I've never liked him. Of course, JKR, tricky genius that she is, might just find a way to make me sympathetic towards Snape. I never, ever thought I'd feel anything other than strong dislike for Draco Malfoy, but I felt so sorry for him in HBP.
Draco will never be completely redeemed, I will say that much with conviction. After all, I can hardly expect him to run around hugging any Muggle-born in sight. But partial redemption is not out of the question. If he ends up helping Harry, I don't think it will be out of the goodness of his heart, but I don't think Draco will be inclined to aid Voldemort anymore either.
Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Draco bought the farm in book seven. He's got Death Eaters on his tail, and his family isn't so well off with Voldemort anymore.
Pre-OotP, I quite liked him. He may have been a bit stuffy and uptight, but I still enjoyed reading about him.
OotP Percy was such an insufferable, sanctimonious prick, though, that it put my Weasley love for him on probation. And I would have been throwing the parsnip at him with Fred, George, and Ginny in HBP. Unless Percy does something huge to redeem himself in my eyes, I'll continue to feel this way. I have a feeling he might sacrifice himself for his family in book seven, but I'm probably completely wrong.
Chris Rankin, on the other hand, I really admire. He's been on PotterCast and sounds like a really wonderful person. Entirely different from Percy. :)
