Thank goodness, all her wicked thoughts are safe and sound. There are some things your male best mate doesn't need to know about you. Ever. "Really? So, if I think of a number, then you don't know what number I'm thinking of?" It happens to be 7, by the way.

She settled herself back in her blanket, snuggling into it. "Yeah, I'm feeling heaps better, thanks to you." She only feels like one truck has hit her now, instead of a convoy!

"Good, good. I'm glad. If you're feeling tired, you can head to bed, if you want, otherwise, I'm going to read for a bit," he finds another book that he's been meaning to finish.

Donna shifts, sprawling out on the sofa like a contented cat. She tilts her head, watching the Doctor for a moment. "Read to me?"

"You sure? Astrophysics can be very boring," he says suddenly feeling a bit crowded.

"If it was so boring you wouldn't be reading it, would you?" She sticks her tongue out at him. "Just... Earth Girl, remember? Try to keep the technobabble to a minimum..."

"People assume that time is a strict progression of cause and effect. But from a non linear, non subjective viewpoint, it's more a big ball of...wibbly wobbly, timey wimey...stuff," he says, trying not to get too technical.

Donna listens. She tries to keep quiet, she really does. "I get the ball, really I do. But there still has to be cause and effect. If you change the past, the future alters. If I went back to yesterday and smashed an egg, you wouldn't be able to eat that egg today, thus your whole future from that point would be different."

She tries not to think about time travel too muh. All those fixed points and fixed time and time in flux and paradoxes. It hurts her head. That's one thing she misses about being able to access that big ol' Time Lord consciousness dormant in her noggin. Being smart and understanding it all.

"Well, astrophysics is very complicated. It's messy, like your broken egg. There are so many factors that go into all theories...like the Big Bang Theory.
The Big Bang is the dominant (and highly supported) theory of the origin of the universe. "But that's stuff I already know. Just reading some new theories about it," he shrugs. "Not exactly what everyone would call pleasure reading...but it works for me," he puts the book down.

"How can you even fit anymore knowledge into that super brain of yours? Seriously... you know like everything, ever. Should sign you up for the quiz nights at the pub near our house. We'd win every time."

"Trivia is fun...but we would have an unfair advantage, wouldn't we? Oh yeah, we would!" He laughs.

"Nah, I don't think having a gorgeous, super smart alien on the team is cheating. Besides, everyone else nips to the loo to use their mobiles when they get stuck." She smiles, trying to hold back a laugh.

"Ah, those smart phones...computer like mobiles. Very sneaky, very clever," he says nodding.

"Gorgeous, eh? There you go again," he winks.

"Yeah well you have that whole pretty boy thing going on that leaves girls weak at the knees. Not me, of course, but other girls." What with the amazing hair and the gorgeous dark eyes that you can gaze into forever, and those adorable lips and that wicked tongue... She blushes at the thought of said tongue.
