It's hardly a time to be rash, Kuchiki-taichou. I would have rather thought we had enough to deal with without some of our own starting to make ultimatums. You're right; it is best to end this swiftly but I'm not handing anyone over to Aizen. That was the last order Ukitake-soutaichou gave before he left, after all.

I understand the desire for a quick resolution, Kuchiki-taichou, but this has the air of desperation about it. Choices made in desperation are seldom wise.
Though it is true that someone should step in to lead the Gotei in Ukitake-soutaichou's absence.
Taichous, this was not meant to be rash, but rather a rationale. I'm certain that you've seen all the same pros and cons of this situation.
As it was then Ukitake-taichou's command that none be handed over, then I appeal that a temporary Soutaichou be chosen - before Aizen or the Central 46 take that decision away from us.

I shudder to think of who Aizen might appoint as soutaichou in this situation. Ukitake was very clear: we protect the "guilty" parties but we can't do that without someone stepping in to take the reins.
