Awesome post, bb! Love the pics! Love the icons! Luke looks so freaking happy to be Reid's boyf he might burst at any moment! Reid's pants might also burst at any moment, asflkj.

he even presses down on it to test whether or not it can handle Luke and Reid's thunder

BRB DYING.

Luke expects Reid to ask how much time he needs, thinking that Reid's going to push him for more but instead Reid just says, "Some things take as long as they take." A MOST UNDERSTANDING AND PATIENT BOYFRIEND YOU ARE, REID.

WORD ON THIS. Reid is rather awesome here.

Look at them!

Love the graphics!

That was a great gapfiller--yes Reid is disappointed, but he is also understanding and patient. And he definitely knows Luke is worth waiting for.

So much adorableness superbly described (and illustrated!) in the commentary. Watching Reid interact with the big and little Snyders is every bit as delightful as I thought it would be. The scene with Reid and Ethan and Natalie, with Luke beaming at his boyfriend’s awkwardness is just gold ( ... )

On a positive note though, they really are so amazingly adorable and the looks they give each other after Luke buys himself some time are the epitome of love. I love them.

Yes! I love the way they look at each other!

One bitter note: It’s great that the writers had Luke be the cockblocker here so that when they killed off his boyfriend he could feel regret about it instead of dealing with just plain old boring grief.

This just breaks my heart. The whole party line that killing off Reid would help Luke grow up is so ridiculous on so many levels but the worst is that given Luke's history, it's obvious that he would blame himself for Reid's death [blackmailing Reid to come to Oakdale in the first place, encouraging Reid to go to Bay City, etc.,]. The fact that he's also going to blame himself for not being willing to make love to Reid is just an extra layer of cruelty.

As frustrating as it is, I'm glad that Luke stood up for himself, did the hard thing and didn't do anything he wasn't ready for. I loved that Reid was understanding and didn't push but still was honest about his disappointment. It really was kind of the wrong time, anyway. Luke's dad's no-longer-needed honeymoon suite? Really, Reid?

And, it's all OK, because when they do finally have sex, moments after Reid returns with the heart for Chris, it was smoking hot. And they have the rest of their lives to make up for lost time. *nods determinedly*

Oh my God, though, the scene with the kids - my heart clenches with how adorable and in love they are.

Yeah, that would've been kind of awkward. And it's okay, because they had all the time in the world to have sexy times after that silliness with Chris and his heart was taken care of.

I totally agree. I mean, I do definitely wish Luke hadn't felt like he needed more time, but since he did, I am really glad that he said so and didn't just sleep with Reid out of some kind of feeling like he had to or something.

Luke had to be on crack at his father's non-wedding. That's really the only logical explanation for him turning down sexy times with Reid. I mean, look at him...hair slightly longer and tuggable, dressed in nice fitting suit, being all adorable with Luke's sibs. I'm going to assume that there is additional footage on the cutting room floor of them throwing each other down on that big bed and just going at it. Darn show.

Loved your commentary.

Great icons! Loved them!

I am trying to be happy with this episode. I do love that cookie wave and the kids with Reid! Most of all, I do love that Luke and Reid can really talk to each other and be honest. Hugs to both of them!

But I gotta admit, I can't watch it without a huge wave of frustration at the ocean of cockblocking here and elsewhere.I'm going to try to go with Mech Bull to my happy place and picture them together (post-heart) and loving each other...Okay, surfing above the tidal wave of cockblocking to that positive thought...

I agree with you on this. And we know that even when Luke was ready, they got blocked by the baby rattle and Reid's work!

It makes me wonder what would have happened had the show not been cancelled. Who knows what ridiculous obstacles LuRe would have had to face and how long they would have stretched it out.

If they had done that (and I agree with you that ridiculous obstacles were quite likely with this show), it would have just ruined them... While I still have anger at the way they handled the end, it does give me pause to imagine them slowly crapping on everything good and magical about Reid and Luke. It does make me (almost) glad that it ended before they could do that, you know?
