We open on scruffy!Reid, eating cereal for dinner and telling someone on the phone (the world-reknowned Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, it turns out) that no, he will not share an office. It's okay, bb, you're not going anywhere anyway. Luke arrives, and Reid tries to convince him that he quit Memorial over hospital politics and regulations. AND NOT

Reid denying he quit for Luke? Yup, Reid's got his defenses up again, especially since Luke just told him that Noah told Luke and Reid thinks that Nuke are together. I'm sure he's imagining Luke and Noah discussing him and his irrational decision. Poor Reid.
When Reid tells Luke he might be leaving, the expression on Luke's face and his subsequent little speech hurts. Luke obviously went over there hoping to get the truth from Luke and maybe re-start their relationship. But, alas, it doesn't happen. I still like that Luke knows the truth but doesn't push it--he wants Reid to acknowledge it, do his part as well. Poor Luke.
I know Reid isn't drinking, but I kinda wish he was. I would've liked to have seen Reid being a little tipsy. But why does one go to a bar alone and NOT drink? Maybe Reid was hoping to find someone for the night ( ... )

The not drinking thing is strange. I honestly don't really get what they were going for there, since they clearly wanted us to think he was drinking. I guess that he's so upset he can't even take solace in booze? THAT'S PRETTY UPSET. :D

Which is strange, because they haven't had a problem showing Reid drinking when he's upset in the past. Now, suddenly, he's not having a drink? Maybe it was all a trap, to see what people would do if they thought he was drunk, if they would tell him things they normally wouldn't tell him, and...
Yeah. I'm giving the writers too much credit.

But hooray! They're gonna figure it out together! \o/
Awesome adlib is awesome. ILU ESS!
Bob tracks down Reid at Yo's, where Reid is inexplicably not drinking alcohol (solidarity with Luke?)
I wrote a gapfiller to explain why back in the day: http://users.livejournal.com/_alicesprings/248706.html (I haven't read this back in ages so I have no idea if it still holds up. Meh.)

Gapfiller! Yay! I will revisit, and I'm sure it holds up very well.

But, what I love even more is how Luke figures it out all on his own...that moment at the table with Bob and Mona when the light turns on in Luke's head...he SO knows Reid.
And the ending...yeah, even without the kiss, it's so sweet. The way they look at each other...sigh...but I think we're supposed to assume that a kiss followed after the cameras stopped rolling. :)

I just have to assume it happened...to preserve my own sanity!

We have to do a lot of that, unfortunately.
But fortunately, I have a great imagination. And in my imagination, there was kissing. Lots and lots of kissing.

Don't you just love that little head nod he does when he's walking into the Lilypad? It's just soooo cute. And Van's expression is so perfect, he's all like "Whaaaaat"
Bona? Bwah ha ha

My love for the BOLIVER [I'm going w Bob + Oliver as the name for this one] bromance is fierce so I hate to say this, but . . . I kinda disliked Bob during this ep. I don't get why he tried to stop Luke from telling Mona about his relationship with Reid. Reid was no longer working for Memorial so it wouldn't affect the sale going through. Plus, since Mona seemed so surprised about the relationship, it really does make it seem like Bob didn't even try to fight for LURE. That's NOT the Bob Hughes: Sentimental Fool that I know and love. YMMV.
But I completely agree with you that Bob showing up at Yo's to let Reid know that Luke stood up for him was AWESOME!!
