haha,i remember the first time this aired. the spoilers boasted about a sexually charged moment.
we all figured it would be an almost kiss moment. i think my first words after it aired were "that was it?!" since we were all excited for Luke & Reid GAME ON!, i was underwhelmed.

but knowing not to many more episodes to go until they start it up, i can sit back and enjoy these moments. Luke is soooooooooooo into Reid. it's like he was ready to throw himself at him when they're at the door. Luke can't stop glancing at his lips while swallowing. hahahaha. you'll get there soon enough. god Luke is so frickin' cute. totally agree - great faces in this episode.

In hindsight, I think this is totally perfect! This is the same day Luke and Noah broke up, don't forget. It's way too early for an almost kiss. I think they slowed down things waaaaaay too much *after* Luke and Reid got together, but I think the lead-up to them getting together was pretty well-paced.

And seriously, that manhandling is so freaking hot. It's as good as an almost kiss, IMO.

They are both totallllllly into each other. That gif gives me the special tingle, aflkj.

This episode is the perfect example of how Eric and Van totally stole and nailed the scene, which could have turned out as a horrible random soapy-sexually tensed moment, but with these two...they just totally sold it.

Reid is so lost at this point and I just adore Luke's expressions throughout the whole episode.

They totally sold it! There were so many scenes that could have been cheesy as hell (*cough* bull riding *cough*) but ESS and Van saved them. Yay ESS and Van!

You know, I can't even watch the bull riding scene. I know people love it, but I just can't... *hides in shame*

OK, sometimes I understand why people don't "get" this couple. This was 6 minutes of bickering, baiting, and shoving, so not everyone's idea of romance. It is the epitome of romance to me though. The undercurrent through all their exchanges culminating with that insanely intense stare-down at the end is just too fabulous for words ( ... )

I agree with your whole comment! And hell yeah that was six minutes of complete awesomeness okay. The way these two bait each other and can't keep away from each other is so intriguing. I love their entire build up to Dallas and wouldn't change a thing.

When he says those mean things to Luke about the breakup with Noah, it seems to me like Reid is trying to keep Luke at a safe distance. Luke, who sees through Reid's bluster and calls him on it, is suddenly available, and that must seem threatening to the guy who doesn't do relationships.

ITA. Reid is trying so hard to keep Luke at a safe distance, but then the look on his face after the manhandling is like, "Oh shit. I'm screwed." HE WANTS LUKE SO BAD AND HE CAN'T HIDE IT. Heeeeeee!

Even though Reid goaded him into saying it defensively, it's interesting that Luke not only volunteers the information that he and Noah broke up, he stresses that he is the one who broke up with Noah.

Oh yeah. We see what you did there, Luke.

I adore love-hate romances. Yes, that stare-down and shoving was intensely charged.

Love your commentary, alicesprings! You are so right about Luke's amazing faces. His face while the future love of his life is getting the shit beat out of him is truly hilarious. Just before the epic shoving, I love how his face goes from irritated to hurt to enraged and then turned on after the manhandling.

We also got the jabby finger in old town, yay!

I'll fanwank the hand thing and say he might have hurt his hand on his way to the floor. Maybe they told him not to mess up the bruise makeup on his face.

Finally, thanks so much for the auction to help Japan. I'm hardly Ms. Moneybags but I'll "spend" all my donation money there.

I wonder if once he's in love with him, Luke worries about people beating his bb up again, and frets about it. And is like, "Hot as you are with bruises, I just can't stand the idea of someone hurting you. Please stop insulting strangers who might take a swing at you."
