OK, sometimes I understand why people don't "get" this couple. This was 6 minutes of bickering, baiting, and shoving, so not everyone's idea of romance. It is the epitome of romance to me though. The undercurrent through all their exchanges culminating with that insanely intense stare-down at the end is just too fabulous for words.

Since this is their first interaction since Luke and Noah officially broke up it seems like a key turning point in the relationship and to me this is possibly the first explicit sign we have that Luke is attracted to Reid.

Reid is especially prick(ly) in this clip, but I think it's obvious that there's a lot going on under the surface. While he is verbally defensive with Judd, he not only lets Judd attack him, but he defends Judd by not letting Luke call the police and understands and explains his actions as being motivated by grief. Reid is rude to that nurse but he immediately looks like he regrets snapping at her. When he says those mean things to Luke about the breakup with Noah, it seems to me like Reid is trying to keep Luke at a safe distance. Luke, who sees through Reid's bluster and calls him on it, is suddenly available, and that must seem threatening to the guy who doesn't do relationships.

Even though Reid goaded him into saying it defensively, it's interesting that Luke not only volunteers the information that he and Noah broke up, he stresses that he is the one who broke up with Noah.

I agree with your whole comment! And hell yeah that was six minutes of complete awesomeness okay. The way these two bait each other and can't keep away from each other is so intriguing. I love their entire build up to Dallas and wouldn't change a thing.

ITA. Reid is trying so hard to keep Luke at a safe distance, but then the look on his face after the manhandling is like, "Oh shit. I'm screwed." HE WANTS LUKE SO BAD AND HE CAN'T HIDE IT. Heeeeeee!

Oh yeah. We see what you did there, Luke.

I agree with everything you've said.

I adore love-hate romances. Yes, that stare-down and shoving was intensely charged.
