Blessedly both boys slept like logs during night. Flavius got up at six thirty, his older brother one hour later. I just knew which boy to pick for sleepovers! After breakfast Cassian helped me with cooking, cutting vegetables and adding spices such as Ingrid (he meant Ingwer=ginger) to the meat and the broccoli. DiL intended to redeem the voucher the two got as a Christmas present- means that the boys were to have an overnight stay at our house. That´s a novum- today I voluntarily got up at five thirty, because I was no more able to sleep. I made a cup of coffee and studied the newspaper (in the tube today), until hubby showed up and we had breakfast. My goal for today was to build the glass cases I had bought at IKEA. Weather ping-pong, Alpine style
So yesterday we had foehn during day and changing winds in the late afternoon. Things blown from south to north were at the place they had started their journey from again. Great weather for one day
When I read the weather forecast telling me that there'd be rain in maybe one hour I took a look out of the window and said no. One hour later the sun was out- we had foehn again, and I loved it. Slow day
Slow days are good ones they say. So I got up half an hour after hubby, had a long, nice, breakfast then had a spa morning in the steam shower. Got ready just in time to leave for a short visit to family number one- it´s DiL´s birthday today. We brought a Sachertorte and Kindersekt plus the obligatory spring flowers. Both hubby and I got up a tad earlier than usual. The birds, so cute and quiet during winter, must be in full mating season already- really hard to ignore! Down to a few items
Today hubby and I braved most of the outdoor decorations. A lot of it ended it the bin- organic waste and the regular one. I had not noticed how much rain had made it onto the table in front of the kitchen window, but the lantern had lots of mold on it, the sleigh has happily rusted away, the walnuts were moldy as well as the rest of the organic ( Read more... ) -
Finally!
The cold is over- we were up to seven degrees at lunch time, plus we finally got a bit of rain. Unfortunately we also got strong winds, so even hubby was glad that the boys are to spend the night at home, with parents they can wake up if the howling outside gets too loud. My friend and I tried to have a nice evening. Only that her flat feels even colder than our rooms. She has called the caretaker twice, and he did come, but was not yet able to solve the heating problem.
