Me and HP fandom have totally grown apart, and maybe, just maybe I've grown up.

Now saying you've grown up is not necessarily growing up, but I think I did realise something.

Indeed, I had this exact conversation with a friend earlier today. I agree with the arguing on the internet not being the best way to try to get people to change their minds about anything, but there is nothing wrong with discussion, once respect for other's having their own opinions is allowed.

They may be stupid opinion in ones estimation, but it stops you from driving yourself crazy with trying to make everyone agree with you.

It might also be that I am really not an argumentative sort of person by enjoy listening or reading about other people's perspective on all things. I once noted that sometimes all one needs to have is a little "respect" for other's choices, decisions, beliefs and causes. If there was more of this, then perhaps we might actually be able to learn from one another.

Note, this sort of thinking shouldn't be limited to the internet, but to life in general.
