in dealing with travelling/camping/music festivals: what's the best way to wash hair without water? tea tree oil, dread style? or maybe with very little water?
When I camp I use 1 tablespoon cornstarch or finely ground oatmeal You can add some flowers or herbs to make it smell nice. If you add herbs then put the cornstarch and herbs in a container and let them sit for a few weeks to allow the sent to soak in to the cornstarch. Apply it to your hair then brush it out. This is great for camping because it is earth friendly.
Enough water to dampen hair, about two table spoons of BS water mix*, rub in, enough water to rinse hair. I'm guessing this would take about 2 cups of water, but I've never tried it. I just know that 2T or so of mix is what I use weekly in the shower, but it's premade.
The mix is 4 T of baking soda in ~16 oz water. So that would work out to about 1T BS in 1/2 cup water. And that would be about 1 teaspoon BS in 2 TBS water. If my conversions are correct, for a one time application.
