I've been doing no poo since February this year. I'm still using the basic BS + water mixture for Shampoo. I went from ACV wash to black tea to green tea for my conditioner. I also add in honey, lemon juice, and tea tree oil for the rinse. I also boil all my water before use because I have hard water. I wash my hair every 3 days or so (sometimes ( Read more... )

So I've been no poo for almost 9 months now! I did an experiment last week and shampooed my hair. I forgot how much my hair tangles after washing it with shampoo. What a mess! Anyways, now 6 days later, my hair's just starting to look greasy! Before going no poo, I had to wash my hair every single day or else it'd be as greasy day 2 that it now is ( Read more... )

After extensive research, I think my biggest challenge is hard water.

I'd love to hear from people who have successfully tackled this problem.  The primary solutions seem to be using distilled water, boiling water or using a filter.  As most of my family live in hard water areas, I'd like super simple solutions that travel easily.

I've been using BS/ACV since October of this year.  It's been okay.  I haven't had to detox or anything (probably because I was using Chagrin Valley shampoo bars before), but I haven't quite figured out what works best for me yet.

I'm going on holidays to America in January/February and have heard about all the woes associated with hard water (I have ridiculously soft lovely water) and am worried about continuing no 'poo on my holiday. I'm also staying with relatives (who I don't know very well) and I don't want them to think I'm really weird!!
