flax seed (linseed) experiment

I followed a recipe posted by westcoastred - under the tag for flax seed. I didn't have all the herbs she used, but i boiled my flax with cloves, cinnamon, rosemary from the garden, then added chamomile (in a teabag) and a few drops of peppermint oil ( Read more... )

The other herbs do matter, actually. Flaxseed by itself is little but oil and proteins. If you don't have easy access to calendula, etc., try this recipe instead. All the herbs used in that one are available in Indian groceries or else online.

that makes a lot of sense. i did read of a few other posters here using flax seed by it's self.

if i try it again, i'll try that recipe, thanks!

after my second hair-wash that day, my hair was especially nice and soft and shiny, so it wasn't all bad :)

I think of flaxseed by itself as a deep conditioning treatment. It's not good for every wash, but it's great for an occasional restoration!

yes, i think this is how it worked for me :)

3 days later and my hair is still softer and shinier, and the reason i tried it in the first place was because i was getting quite bad tangles (little knots, that happened even immediately after brushing) - problem solved!
