I followed a recipe posted by westcoastred - under the tag for flax seed. I didn't have all the herbs she used, but i boiled my flax with cloves, cinnamon, rosemary from the garden, then added chamomile (in a teabag) and a few drops of peppermint oil.
i had no idea if this was basic or acidic, so i decided to do a ACV (with some lavender EO) rinse afterwards.
I should say that I had oiled my ends the night before with coconut, not sure if that made a difference.
verdict: not good. it felt good while it was saturated in the shower, but now that it's dry my hair feels as greasy as it did going into the shower. it smells lovely at least! the length actually feels nice, and is shiny, just the hair close to my head is a bit yuck. my scalp feels pretty happy.
if i weren't seeing anyone tonight i'd leave it until tomorrow to rewash, but as it is, i'd rather my boyfriend not see me like this! back to the shower with some BS for me :)
i would try this again at a later date, but i have a feeling it would work better as a conditioner - if i'd BS washed my hair first.
i'm only 2 and a half weeks into no poo, i have long (mid-back), straight, fine & abundant hair.
(i realise that many people recommend not trying too many different things so soon into no poo, but i've had no signs of "transition" - my hair has behaved very well so far, aside from right now, and experimenting is fun!)
