i've been doing the APV rinse, and though it makes my hair very soft, it seems to be bad about making my roots and top of head very oily feeling. (and looking) Someone mentioned using a tea-rinse instead, i think it was green tea, but i can't find it. Has anyone tried this? How did it work out? How do you do it, just make a cup of green tea and ( Read more... )

Does anyone know of any good tea rinses for blondy-brown (fairer) hair, as I think tea such as chai darkens light hair? I know about chamomile and rhubarb, are there any others I'm overlooking?

Honey is supposed to be lightening and moisturising, but I found it drying. It's sticky to put on, but it rinses out surprisingly easily.

I use White Vinegar for my dandruff. Don't get Heinz, it is stinky... get the store brand. I use either straight WV on my scalp or 50/50 mix with water. Put it directly on the scalp and let it sit for a bit, then rinse really well. It helped soooo much.

Cool! i wonder why white vinegar works better than ACV for this?

I've never figured that out either.

I used to wash with a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water. It didn't seem to help me personally much, but that could be because that was my early days of no-poo too. Maybe I should go back to it.

since switching to no poo my dandruff has really improved. i add 3-4 drops of tea tree oil for every cup of acv rinse. i read that dandruff is often fungal and tea tree oil helps that.
