Methods of washing and conditioning without baking soda, vinegar, shampoo or conditioner

Although baking soda and apple cider vinegar bleached my hair in short order, I am still interested to find other Earth-friendly, non-toxic, "natural" methods of hair care.  Welcome to the rough-draft version where we can gather information on these methods!

Hop in shower - get wet. Scrub scalp with fingers. Wash self. Rinse self. Scrub scalp with fingers again. Rinse scalp. Get out of shower. Dry. Tada! Repeat two or maybe three times a week. That's been working for me for almost a year and a half.

If you go the WO route, I've found that it's essential to rinse with the coldest water you can stand. This cuts down on the grease like whoa.

like suchong says below, henna is great as a wash. there was one month where i had washed with ACV once a week and then the 4th week, i hennaed (on dry unwashed hair) and when i rinsed it out with the ACV and brushing under running water, my hair was super clean.

there really isn't ever going to be a comprehensive list. unless that list keeps getting updated.

before creating your list, please look through the alternative washes/conditioners tags so you don't omit stuff.
