2/19: Tim is broody (this actually hasn't happened nearly enough to be IC)

Feb 22, 2006 00:02

After taking Kadaj out for waffles which will happen, if we have to handwave the whole thing, Tim goes back home and thinks about tidying the place up a bit. He doesn't really want to make the bed, not yet, cause apparently he is a thirteen year old girl, but some things need cleaning and now is as good a time as any ( Read more... )

Her conversation with Anita put her through the ringer zomg, I have no idea what actually happens here, but I'm assuming it'll be harsh and, newly found wings or not, Lee hurt. Between being hit with the worst overdose of Lust in the history of Creation, fighting with two of the beings who meant most to her, and embracing the Chaos within, she needed ( ... )

So sweet. So fucking sweet to her. "Don't deserve this. My fault." Still he was holding her and it felt good and safe and nothing was bad, and that after everything?

God.

Blinking the tears out of her eyes, she hugged him hard, then pushed him back, gently, so she could retrieve her shirt. Shrugging it back on, wings extinguished, she offered him a half-smile that might almost have been shy.

"We should talk. But. Would you mind if we..." She gestured in the direction of the bed, feeling awkward and all of sixteen. Tim really did bring her right back to being a baby-cape some days. "It was bad. I did some stuff."

She rolled her eyes and tried for her own age. "I had a long night. I hurt. I don't cuddle. Not my thing. But it's different with you. Would you mind if we curled up on the bed?"

He can't say how much more comfortable he is with her having all her clothes on. Suffice to say, it's a highly increased degree of comfort.

"Yeah sure," he says, turning to the bed before remembering... last night. And he hasn't changed the sheets, and he so isn't going to, not yet anyway but... Lee. He looks around, and sees one of the spare blankets. Grabbing it, he smoothes the blanket on the actual bed and then throws the new blanket over it.

He lays down on his side and scoots over, closer to the wall, and looks at her, "C'mon," he says and it's weird, because the Bats aren't really the cuddle type (mostly it's the armor, kevlar and otherwise, that makes being that close almost painful). He can make an exception though... for her. She is after all, pretty much the exception to every rule he's ever laid down for himself.

Weird. Cuddling. Weird.

But she needed the closeness to get through all of this stuff that would be so much weirder for him than even cuddling could be. So, she laid down on the bed with her back to him, and started talking. He'd do whatever he did.

"How much do you remember about the Ball? Do you remember touching anyone or being touched by anyone just before you and I...just before we talked?"

Her body against his, and she's taller, but lying here like this, it makes that difference seem smaller.

He and Kadaj had touched, innocently, Tim trying to calm him, he'd been so tense and Tim hadn't known why. And that guy, the guy that he'd been so angry with. Why ahd he... the dark haired man, not quite six feet, clean shaven, dark eyes... he'd run into him. Said something dismissive. Tim had been so angry, that's where the anger had started.

"There was a man," he tells her, running his fingers through her hair, "he, he ran into me, touched my face. Did he do something to me?"

Magic? Some kind of drug? "What do you know?" he asks. Because she definitely knows something.

His fingers tangled gently in her hair, soft tugs, relaxing. It summoned a memory of Ariella, as a child of three, sitting in her lap, fingers curled in Linda Danvers, Supergirl's hair and kissing her neck. Odd thing to remember, but with all the pain and the return of her wings, maybe not.

She shook it off, and turned her head into Tim's hand. A long sigh and then, "Yes. He did." God damn it, C, I swear I'm going to kick the shit out of you for this. "That man was...is..." She rolled her eyes. "My demon. For some theological reason, there's a need for balance in the Plan. Because of what I am, I'm sort of outside the Plan. And the demon, Crowley, he's very much at the center of it ( ... )
