jackandahat's post doesn't pass the sniff test for me. Not saying the response wasn't real, but he got it days after the campaign was removed from LJ, and had submittted it to an independent company that's not actually part of Pepsi and is based in a different country.

Occam's Razor here again points at the LJ and Pepsi teams just realizing this wasn't a good fit.

See, to me, Britvic is Pepsi UK, and given that they use the brand as theirs, it's in their interest to coordinate with PepsiCo proper.

I suspect you're right, the timing is all wrong let alone anything else, but until this came up I didn't know Britvic wasn't actually part of Pepsi itself but a franchise, because over here Pepsi is still a huge brand, and it's got the Britvic logo on the bottom. Ah well.

(also? I really hate Occam's razor, because his basic answer to everything was "god did it", that's always the simplest possible solution, apparently)

Although you're right, it is a bad fit, but given the developement time that had gone in already there has to be more to it-IANAL, but the breach-of-TOS rings true to me.

(I owe you an email BTW, swamped, but appreciated the feedback)

Well then maybe LJ should say something about it instead of playing the 'head-buried-in the-sand-I can't-hear-you la-la-la' game. That's absolutely ridiculous.
