Keep an eye out for Basic accounts created as Plus

Keep your eyes and ears peeled--the past month has brought enough reports of new Basic account creations ending up as Plus that it's very possible there is a bug somewhere in the process. I notice that the default level when creating an account is Plus. Which is to say, once a user enters his/her vitals here, they are prompted on the next page whether they want a Basic/Plus/Paid account. By the time the user gets to this second page, their account has already been created as a Plus account (or at least that's what happened for me on 2/2 attempts) and if they don't select an account type when prompted (and instead close the browser window or navigate elsewhere) it will remain that way.

I wonder how many of these reports could be as a result of people not choosing an account type, or attempting to choose one but being foobared due to network issues/other reasons?
