Advertising Livejournal

So we know there's advertising on LJ now. But LJ is also currently advertising, at least on Google; here's a screencap of a text ad for LJ served while using GMail's interface. Although I seem to recall LJ advertising in the past, I didn't think they were currently advertising until now. It's possible I'm wrong and it's not an ad, since the about these links page seems to indicate they also serve "related information" as well. (Or is that just another term for contextual advertising?) The link the ad uses is interesting to look at in itself (cut with spaces for wrapping):

&channel=AccountAge14to30%2BContentOneboxCV&redir_url=http://livejournal.com/

If LJ is advertising its services, the way the default setting for account level when creating a new account is now Sponsored+ might be given more context-that way new accounts pulled in by the ads on Google might be more likely to use the Sponsored+ level and hopefully (from a business perspective) create advertising revenue. SixApart is definitely advertising TypePad [screencap of Sponsored links from Google search], but that seems more sensible since TypePad only has free trials and all accounts are paid.

Thoughts?
