Btw, I feel utterly conservative in this fandom when it comes to the basic narrative I want to read: and it is the K/S PLOT of the movie itself! Basically, the ST XI canon is that Spock grows up believing in a certain philosophy/outlook, but then meets Kirk who PROVOKES the hell out of him and EMOTIONALLY COMPROMISES HIM into reconsidering his beliefs. Which Spock does, and manages to incorporate conflicting sides of himself into a more harmonious whole while also gaining a BF(F) in Kirk. Right?
And all I want is this very story told over and over again, only in different settings! I don't need anything beyond the very canon of the movie! So you know, the Catholic Church seemed an obvious choice for the picspam. (Plus I didn't have enough images for a samurai!AU. LOL.)

That was wonderful, dahling. Someone who knows something about Catholicism totally should.

The WiP I linked to at the end seems to be incredibly well researched and thorough - I can't wait to read it. Catholicism is just so exotic!
