Black hair drifted in soft waves to Sakito’s shoulders as he slid unnoticed onto a park bench next to a familiar, hated figure. Behind the raised newspaper would be a blonde and handsome man, though plainly so. The only indication of his affiliation visible was a gold ring bearing the insignia of Heaven’s army. Smiling faintly, Sakito waited to be noticed, watching with kohl-lined eyes as the twitch in the man’s hand rippled through the paper. A moment later, a pair of scrutinizing blue eyes peered over the top at him, suddenly looking quite startled in recognition.

“Hello~” Sakito purred, the smile on his lips widening in an impish grin at the man’s obvious discomfort. “Long time, no see.”

Sakito knew he was playing with fire - a full-blooded angel could still easily take his life despite his confidence and a few tricks he’d learned from Niya. Still, the temptation to flaunt his newfound happiness and vanity to the man who’d sent him to his death was too great to ignore.

“S…Sakito…” the angel stumbled over the name as if he were unsure of how to react. It was no secret in Heaven what had happened to the halfling, but more importantly there wasn’t a single soul unwitting of his affiliation with Niya. That alone made him dangerous.

“I just wanted to say…” Sakito paused and looked in mock thoughtfulness toward the sky, then back to the man’s nameless face, “…thank you.”

Dropping his newspaper, the angel leaned toward him earnestly, but still unable to look Sakito in the eyes. “You can still redeem yourself. Work for us again, we need spies now more than ever. Your loyalty would…earn you some respect.”

Raising an eyebrow, Sakito leaned in, close enough so the other could experience the tickle of warm breath on his ear. He could feel the repulsion and urge to recoil radiating from the holy creature beside him. “Even if I believed that bullshit,” he said softly, “I don’t think I could give up the sex.”

If it were possible, Sakito was sure the man’s eyes would have popped out of his head. Laughing, the fallen angel rose gracefully and sauntered away with a wave of his elegant fingers, feeling more powerful and poised than he ever had before. Niya was waiting at home to teach him to fly, Sakito remembered, a giddy sort of pleasure welling up through his chest.
