Curious to know of his suggestions, am struggling with my own re-org at home and now things are complicated by fucked up ankles and crutches and whatnot.

Good luck with the re-org and with the F.A.G. issue!

thanks, and right back atcha! (well, okay, MINUS the F.A.G. issue, since i hope to ghod you don't have a problem like him!)

suggestion from my dad, which i think your place probably isn't bad enough to warrant: get a handful of those big rubbermaid tubs, and use them to put the crap on the floor into. get everything off the floor and into those (if possible), then worry about organizing it. at least that way i'll be able to vacuum. i figure if i even get just 2 of 'em, i'll be able to get enough stuff off the floor to improve things significantly.

nabil's suggestions:

  1. earmark a certain amount of money (maybe from a freelance transcription job) to pay somebody to come in and professionally clean the place. plan on being there when they clean, and even on working with them. (again, that applies more to me than to you, since i'm still in dire need of guidance on how to clean, at least efficiently.)
  2. talk to my mom's cleaning lady (who's been cleaning for my mom since i was in high school), maybe even hang around and watch and ( ... )

Okay, that's similar to how I've been doing it. my downfall with that is I'm not so good with the organizing later part. I still have boxes in the office that were part of a "get stuff up off the floor" de-cluttering and still need to be gone through/sorted/organized ( ... )
