Last night I was on a total tear and wound up getting plenty accomplished before I fell asleep at dawn. I sent my resume out for proof-reading/editing advice, totally backed up the 100 Gig SATA drive on my laptop. I was forced to use only 7.5 Gigs of USB hard drive and flash thumbdrives, since my big 120 Gig USB drive was already formatted as ( Read more... )

What kind of soup did you make?

Acorn squash always goes bad quick on me to.

It was chicken noodle soup from a pouch. I found it in the back of my pantry and decided that I should probably do something with it.

However, future culinary adventures will be more daring!

My family usually has had little trouble keeping squash of any sort around for at least one winter. Then again, my Mom used to store them in our "fruit cupboard" in the basement under the stairs. This squash was home-grown by one of my Mom's friends and was small and runty anyway. I suspect that it carried the seeds of its own destruction anyway.

I just loaded 7.10 on my new Dell (X1)... I could not believe how everything "just worked" including desktop effects, wpa, wireless, everything... Without one tweak.

They did a beautiful job!

Desktop effects? Could you elaborate, please?

Also, I have yet to check out the wireless config utility, if WPA now works out of the box, I will have very little reason to run XP in the future.

Compiz (Like Beryl) (System->Preferences->Appearance->Visual Effects) Set to Normal, or Extra
