Characters: Fay D. Flourite (Yuui), Fay When: May 31st, after this. Where: From the apartments to vaguely around the area. Rating: PG. Summary: The twins search for ice cream, of all things.
Yuui felt very old and very inexperienced at the same time when confronted with his twin. That face should be his face. But he had grown, tall and slim while Fay stayed frozen in time. He didn't know how to handle him. He felt protective of him, and at the same time, child like. He wanted to shelter him and show him how exciting the world could be. All these feelings were conflicting, and left him quite sure he was doing everything wrong.
He looked to Fay, smiling and starting off at a slow pace, for him at least, but his legs were longer. He stretched, his arms behind his head and giving a cheerful hum. "Your first ice cream," he said with a grin, adjusting his homemade eye-patch, "It sounds like such an odd thing, but it's really nice in hot places like this."
Though he sounded and acted cheery, there was still a certain cautiousness to him, an anxiety and a guilt he couldn't shake. He wanted to pull Fay close. He wanted him to run off and explore. He wanted ....he didn't know what he wanted.
It was a little odd, feeling slightly awkward in the presence of a twin who really wasn’t an identical twin anymore. Yuui had essentially grown up and moved on while Fay was still living in the same point of time; it made him feel a little uncertain and lost for what to do with himself. Before his death they had struggled through things together, now it more a matter of one leading the other, uneven ground for the time-being, if it would level out at all.
Still, Fay shook those thoughts out of his mind, returning the smile and keeping pace. Carefully he peered up at the statement, trying to avoid thinking about the almost constant nagging feeling to ask about the eye-patch his brother wore, it was a strange thing but not just because it was the other saying ‘first’. “When was your first one?” Best to keep the conversation moving, maybe he could get to know his ‘older’ brother a little more.
"Mm-" Yuui paused, looking off and surprised to find he couldn't remember which time had been the first. With the princess...naturally, he wouldn't have had ice cream with Ashura. Sake though, his first sake had been there.
"I can't remember," he answered truthfully, giving a small laugh, "But not too long ago. I tried lots of new things in each world, it's hard to remember. I think my favourite is strawberry."
He liked it when he and Fay talked like this. But he was also fairly certain Fay would want to know more then when he'd first had ice cream someday. He'd made such a habit of keeping the bad things bottled up, it would be hard to share them.
That was the trouble with time passing, sometimes Fay had little doubts as to whether he could tell when Yuui was being truthful or not. It was obvious that his brother tend to avoid the truth but, at least in his head he was saying this, surely the other wouldn’t tell him a straight lie, right? That probably didn’t matter right now though; Fay would bet an awful lot on that Yuui was being truthful about not remembering when he’d first had ice cream
