To celebrate finishing up a sketchbook after 7 months of diddling and being a bum, I lugged out the scanner and beat it to submission. This sketchbook was cursed, so! Good riddance.

You ARTIST, you. ♥

I think I drained a lot of my words in that email (haha, I bet it was too long! A novel or something like it...geez. Maybe it will be a good sleep remedy.), but I just have to say that I really enjoy these sketches-- as I do all your art, true facts! It goes without saying. I know I write the same damn things every time I comment about your art, and I need to work on that, but I really love your lines and your form, the way you experiment with poses and are always trying different things. I was scrolling through these and had to stop and outright gawk at the gymnast one for a solid few minutes, just baffled at the impressiveness of the way you caught how that form looks in real life, how liquid and refined your sketch of that difficult pose is! I was like, "how did she...wow. Wow, wow." And I couldn't get over myself. You are above and beyond, truly ( ... )

:DDDD Mutual.

♥ As for the gymnast...I have no idea. They are conditioned into it, I think. Molded from youth. It reminds me, I did gymnastics when I was little, but I got scared of flipping over the bar, so I rebelled. Yeah. I was so cool, running to my mom. Haha. Now I am a lazy slob who does nothing all day. If I had kept up with it, at least I could have been a lazy slob doing nothing all day with the occasional flip over a bar thrown in there.... ;p Great party trick! Alas...

I think it would be awesome to see some huge crowd scene with those scribble people. A zoo, perhaps. Scribble people and buildings and trees and animals. /cough.

Maybe my sketchbook is cursed then, too. Haha! That is my opinion, and I'm sticking to it. What sort of tainted beginning, though, if I can ask? Some water spill or drop in a puddle, maybe? Or just the feel of it? Sometimes it's weird, how things don't feel completely copacetic from the get-go, like it's almost an aura sort of deal, but such is life...

♥ It's a battle well won.

:D

Oh, cool! That you had a brief time in gymnastics! And it would make a cool party trick. :D You could've taken a part time as a superhero...or villain. XD

Cough indeed. ;p But that does sound like a wonderful idea. It's funny because I was thinking today that I needed to go to the zoo for some sketches. IT'S FATE.

The sketchbook was started for a final class assignment and after the class was done it was very hard to step away from that origin. I could have kept with the theme (label drawing) but I wasn't interested in that, and it became a battle of content. Boo. ;p But yeah! Dude, sketchbooks totally have vibes. You have the friendly ones, the one that only want pen, and the ones that weren't meant for your hands at all. -sigh-
