Bits and bobs...

I can't believe I haven't posted anything since 12 July! Where has the time gone?

The past six weeks or so was swallowed up modding this year's round of dramione_duet, which is always a bit hair-raising and, this year, involved making some art and writing a pinch-hit story, Be careful what you wish for (NC-17).

All those pictures are really great, but my favourite has to be the third one.

Thank you:-)

That's interesting, because several people have picked that one out, and it was the one I was least pleased with (though it took me longer than any of the others), but I do think it's the one with the best 'story'.

Aww cute little guinea pig!!

I was completely unaware that there was a new Judge Dredd film!!! Good. Grief I'm far too out of touch.

They're worth every penny aren't they?

The Judge Dredd film (Dredd) isn't actually that new -- 2012 -- but it's well worth seeing (though very violent). Karl Urban is Dredd. The story I illustrated also features his (canon) identical twin, so I had to use screenshots from other films, because Urban's Dredd never takes his helmet off ;-)

Hi there.

Your guinea-pigs are adorable.

What's the plant in the top left of your picture?

Hi! They're cute aren't they?

I think the plant's a Japanese acer, but... I took the picture a couple of months ago and this morning it looked dead -- far deader than it looked last winter -- so I'm a bit worried it's succumbed to frost. It had just started to flourish, as well :-(

Now that I look again, could it be a Jacob's ladder (purply flowers)? In which case it might well grow again next year, or at least seed around your garden?

Great art! Shame that participant dropped out though.

And this reminds me that I should update my drabbles, ugh. Congrats on the wins. (Also, didn't you say you were going to stop at the comm for a bit?)

Those are cute and in photos at least look real enough.

Thanks! I know. Wouldn't it have been great to have had two art duets? Next time, I'm going to include art in the main sign-up post, so we may get more artists.

Thanks -- congrats to you, too. I voted for yours! (These days, I really look for the ones with the most unusual takes on the prompt). No, I had to drop out last month because of going away, but I sort of feel a responsibility to support the comm ;-)

The guinea pigs actually look more real in real life!

I think that might be good. Although I think we've talked about this, would this mean that they would be included in the 20 people only? (Are they now? I forget.)

Thank you. And that's kind of funny! :P I might've voted for yours, I can't remember honestly. I'm lucky if I can remember which one is mine by the time voting comes around!

I'm glad you've not stopped completely (even if it means you snag all the prizes!).

That's great. Good find. :)

No, the artists would be extra, and I wouldn't put any limit on them because I don't expect we'd get more than two or three!

I can't usually remember what I voted for but, for some reason, I did this time. It could get very embarrassing if you didn't remember which was yours & voted for it. I usually write mine at the last minute, so it's still seared in my memory!
