Hello! It's so lovely to hear from you :-)

I'm glad you enjoyed the talk. It took me a long time to write it because it's such an enormous topic, and I've only scratched the surface, but it does cover the sorts of problem I've come up against when writing, and the things I've found interesting in books & TV programmes.

Thank you very much for the recommendation. I'm always on the lookout for the tried and tested! I've had a quick look on Amazon & put a couple on my wish list -- I will definitely be reading them soon. At the moment I'm working my way through Fred Vargas' books. She's an archaeologist and historian, and her USP (LOL) is to take mediaeval ideas and transplant them into modern France. The effect is magical for a history geek like me! I do recommend them if you haven't already read them.

I'm glad you liked it! It took me a shockingly long time to write, and it only scratches the surface, but it discusses all the bits I find most interesting.

[BTW, I finally saw Spencer Reid's bum catch fire the other day, and thought of you, LOL.]
