I'm glad things are going fairly well for ya!
Don't worry about the partying and sex and all....A party here and there is totally great but every night gets a bit ridiculous and besides, you pretty much always will have to sing and have no time to be tired (or hung over...and lemme tell ya, singing hung-over= NOT FUN!)
What opera are they doing?

City of Angels has a pretty small cast (compared to most casts that schools do) so I wouldn't worry

hahah thanks girl. we just did cosi fan tutte and i got to be in the chorus :) we closed last weekend. it was a really great show! my voice teacher is really great too, and think my voice has already gotten a lot better. unfortunately, i always hoped that maybe one day i would get to be a real soprano and my voice would get higher with more and more training, but alas, i have learned that i am and will always be a mezzo :( which isn't a bad thing, but i am always jealous of you fabulous sopranos! i just want to hit those high c's and d's and e's with ease, but they just aren't in my voice :( sometimes it's hard to accept that, ya know?

I totally understand but hey! there are less mezzos (mezzi?) out there than sopranos so it's a little easier to get roles and if you can sing alto in choirs then you'll probably be able to find a church gig easier too (they seem to always need altos and men)

I know and will soon be going through a similar situation. But it is important, and worthy of basing decisions off of and only you and that one other person will understand it. I read your post about getting gum grafts. I have major recession and have to get one in december and have been having anxiety about it for months now. You know me, being someone who's so obsessed with there teeth. By the way I never got the chance to tell you how amazing you were in the kamiak musical.
