Making custom townies is indeed a long and sometimes frustrating process but it certainly has its rewards in offering interesting npcs that you feel invested with.
I completely understand that tendency to bend to the will of the perfectionist. I too can start down that somewhat annoying road if I let myself. While it can be rather fun to tweak and customize your new town, I sometimes just want to play instead. :)
You are such a dear, Tenielle :D I can't wait to be posting too. Although I do hope I can get around to it, what with the university duties and all. I'd love to go all story-legacy on this but please don't hold your breath :D

Oh indeed! I have got the creative part down now, and I hope the townifying process will go smoothly. Then, I might get around to starting to play. I definitely have a certain affection for all the Sims that I created. Throughout the making of the different families I kept finding new favourites. Finding spouses for my playables will be an interesting search, with satisfactory results almost guaranteed

A new legacy?! Oh I'm excited to see! I was wondering who that pretty sim in your icon was. I just adore her name, too. And I'm curious about the story brewing in your head.. I just love it when sims have stories behind them. ^_^
Also: gosh that sounds like a lot of work, but I'm positive it must be worth it - knowing that you have your game exactly as you want it. :)
*bounces* Glad you're excited! I'm excited as well! I was thinking of playing it quietly and waiting before posting anything (lest I should be forced to abandon the attempt or something equally terrible should happen) but you know I am just too much of an excitable person to do that! :D

Well I'm glad you did decide to share early on, it's so great to see posts from you! ^_^
This coming November... are you doing NaNoWriMo? Oh that would be fantastic if you were! :D I'd love to see what you come up with. And I can definitely say "ditto" to "everything has to make sense" I'm like that too, most of the time. :P
And your game always looks pretty perfect to me - I'm often extremely jealous of your neighbourhoods in particular and all the thought and effort you put into making them so beautiful and real. Not to mention the detail you go into for townies! No wonder you have so many favourites.
I just had a thought: what about joining the NLC 4/2 over at Sims2Supernova? Unless of course you've already started playing Pernilla, but still!
Also, another random thought: I hope you don't mind if I pick your brain for names in the near future? Your sims always have some of the best ones. :)
Yay indeed! ^_^ I'm Dutch, but I fell in love with the Nordic countries... And now that I went to Sweden on holiday, I had an excuse to learn the language (which is adorable!) and fell in love with the landscape even more. So naturally I had to have the pretty names in my game! I also changed the game UI language to Swedish, and the terrain legacy 'hood is inspired by a Swedish lake...
That's so awesome that you spent so much time creating your townies and putting so much thought into them. I find setting everything up to be my favorite part. I'm creating a new hood now and I think I'm going to try and use my friend's sims for townies mostly. I like background stories.
I really like nailatie's templates. Were all the ones on the front page finished or is it something I would have to check out in bodyshop first?
Oh the setting up is totally my favourite part too. I can get so carried away trying to have everything make sense and making everything just right! The townies themselves are still rather random, and I don't have an explanation for why they are running around the deserted neighbourhood; but I did try to give them all a bit of character and have their genetics make sense. Nailati's templates helped along with that, because of the ethnic diversity she focused on
