Wow! I really must take a look at the yahoo challenge group as it sounds rather interesting, compleatly different to how I normally play. The monthly challenge idea sounds fun too, I love this house and how this town is shaping up! I've been dying to check out your new Tinn posts that I've glanced at on my friends list and now (once I've gotten out of my jetlagged induced haze, darn 14 then 8 hr flights :P) I might finally have some time, yey! - can't wait to see more!
Hey, it's Beatdoc! Welcome home! :D My medieval village Tinn was originally a RKC, a challenge created by Enblith, but I've changed so many things about it that nowadays it's just loosely based on the original idea: a medieval neighbourhood with different ranks. The yahoo group is just there to support the people who are playing the challenge and for them to talk to eachother. :) If you are interested in medieval or historical 'hoods you should definitely take a look! Although I should warn you, it's quite a project.. :P
Thank you for the compliments, I really like how the village is coming together now that it's all around one centre :) I've only been playing Tinn lately and I think I posted quite some new things while you were away, so once you're a little more awake, I hope you enjoy those too. (Man, 22 hrs on a plane wouldn't make anybody happy o.o)
Thank you ^_^ I adore those sheep as well. It's just a simple lot with nothing but sheep on it, as a filler in the 'hood and for nice pictures like this. Yes, you told me on another post. :) When you have some spare time you could try and play it again, but I think new projects would be much more exciting! Especially when you have so many other projects to do like you have. (Although I would love to see what you'd do with the medieval theme!) I might cook up a resource post for all my medieval CC.. After my reorganization it wasn't that hard to find after all. Hmm..
I really love this house, it´s cute! And you neighbourhood looks simply beautiful. I am actually a "middle-ages-freak" and formerly I have had a wonderful medieval neighbourhood and built such little cottages^^. But I was never able to combine the medieval theme with the modern game. Sure I don´t need a TV or so but there are the normal jobs, the postman etc. and the townies don´t look medieval. Of course there are great replacements and tons of furniture, decoration and all but it was no fun for me to play this way. So I confined myself to medieval photo stories and this was fun enough :D Sorry for prattle so much^^
Thank you so much! And also hello and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment! :)
Are you really? How cool! 'Cause I am, too. :D Do you still have that neighbourhood? Or the pictures? I'd love to see them.
True, the game will always be hardcore modern. Truly medieval it will never be. For me it comes close enough. I'm not able to recreate an actual medieval village in the real world, after all! On the one hand I want to try and make it as realistic as possible, but on the other I know that will never be possible. So I just play the game with a medieval touch and try to make them act medieval. None of them have maxis jobs, they're farmers or work in businesses, and my townies are gone or made-over. It's good enough for me, and makes for nice pictures :D I don't mind your rambling, gosh I do it all the time! :) Don't hesitate, haha!
