Read any good books lately?

May 23, 2008 20:23

Last week, I was standing in front of my bookcase looking for something to read, and realized that I've read every book I own--some more than ten times, I'm sure. So, I plan to go book shopping sometime next week. I heard so many good things about Eat, Pray, Love; it's on my must-read list.
Anything to recommend, flist?

rl stuff, books

Have you read The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albam? That's a fantastic book. I also really enjoyed God's Debris and The Religion Wars by Scott Adams.

Oh, and The Northern Lights trilogy by Ohilip Pullman is absolutely amazing *g*

I haven't read "The Five People You Meet In Heaven" yet, but I hear it's awesome. The other three I'm not familiar with.
Maybe I should just go ahead and actually read the Harry Potter series, too, while I'm at it.

*g* that might be an idea...

The Northern Lights Trilogy is very, very good. It's set in magical worlds, and it's a fantasy book, but really engaging for adults (it's loosely based aroun the story of Adam and Eve and the fall)

I mean, I kinda already know what happens in the HP books, from what I read in fics and what others have told me, but then again, reading fics has made me want to read the books.
I'll look for your suggestions next time I'm at the bookstore. :-)
