Okay, I'm going to weigh in on this whole Fall Out Boy video controversy. While I respect that people don't like the video, I happen to love it, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for Fall Out Boy for bringing the situation in Uganda to people's attention ( Read more... )

I didn't think that the main controversy was over whether or not Invisible Children is a good cause, or that FOB's involvement in the charity is good or not. From what I've been reading, from both sides, I thought the problem was that a lot of people who don't like the video simply just don't like it as a Fall Out Boy video.

We've grown to expect a certain standard when it comes to their vids, and this is completely not like them whatsoever. And I'm not saying that it isn't awesome that they're trying to use their newfound outrageous popularity (well, Pete's popularity) to bring attention to the horrible day-to-day lives of Ugandan children... but as a music video, the type that would get shown on television (if networks even PLAY videos anymore??), it's just... not really very entertaining, nor is it what I think many of us really would've wanted as a next single. I've never really liked the song that much. It's boring. It's also way way too much about Jeanae-- personally, I simply can't connect the words to the kids in the ( ... )

Theres a FOB video controversy? Really? I think the idea of the video itself is good and its presented in a good way. Its just not what I personally wanted from this song for a video. If that makes sense.

Hi, I'm stalking you. :D

I feel bad that we're invading Tas's journal, so I thought I'd come check yours out. *flails around* You're a total FOB fan!! That wins so much. :) I am too! I've always liked them (for a couple of years now) but I just got into them pretty hardcore since the last album. And I'm with you. I totally LOVE the new video. It made me cry. :( And did you watch them on Fuse? It made Patrick cry too! It broke my heart. :(

So hey, can I add you? My f-list doesn't have nearly enough FOB fans on it! :)

Hi! Of course you can add me, I love meeting fellow FOB fans :D

I did see the Fuse interview, it was just so sad and I wanted to give Patrick a hug. ♥

I've been a FOB fan since April of this year, but they've gotten me through a really hellish year.

Aw, I'm really glad they could do that for you! I was a casual fan for the longest time, but I guess if I really think about it, right about when IOH came out is when I really got into them even more so. Well, there was a period last year, when I went all FOB crazy, but then I got into My Chemical Romance (see: my other obsession) and that sort of took off for a while. Present day, I'd say my obsessions are equal. I couldn't even pick which one I liked more. They both are so important to me, and fill very different voids in my life ( ... )

FOB have pretty much taken over my life. I was supposed to be going to see them in November, but sadly I can't afford to due to recently having lost my job :(

I do like TAI, and Gym Class Heroes, and Cobra Starship, and I've been a Green Day fan since '94 which just makes me feel really old haha :) I'm also a *huge* Kanye West fan. I love him almost as much as I love FOB. Let's see, what else. I like old school No Doubt (they were my 90s obsession), and old school Smashing Pumpkins, and I also really like Lily Allen. :)

I do agree that Patrick makes everything better :)
