That *is* ridiculous. You have my complete sympathy. Especially given that last Trinity I'd offhand decided one week that I could base about half my essay on one promising-sounding article in the reading list. And said article then turned out to be in Italian. Grrr. I feel your pain.

awww, thanks ;)

nice to know that someone cares. Or indeed reads my entries...

but surely you could've just turned the said article into English by plugging it into BabelFish, a la the Ramazzotti/Nek lyrics? :P

[only joking - interestingly, did that the other day with the Fuoco nel Fuoco lyrics - a most BIZZARRE result ensued... but kinda the meaning I'd been getting anyway, esp for the chorus. The 2nd verse was somewhat near-embarassingly graphic, according to BabelFish. But you probably don't have a clue what I'm talking about, so I'll shut up, and go home. After all, 2 of three chapters of Comp law have been got through, and I'm not sure my brain can take any more...]

Using Babelfish, I usually do the translation into French (because the syntax is closer) and then attempt to puzzle out the meaning from my knowledge of said language. But that works only spottily with song lyrics (which need to be understood a stanza at a time) whereas a 30-page article on parliamentary structure is somewhat different. Strangely.

(By the way, you have the magic of RSS to thank for alerting me to your post. The JCR website's General Notices have now been RSS-fied. w00t.)
