Oh I had the fun of being paralyzed from the waist down for a month. So...kegels. Yeah. After a month with like...nothing it's amazing how much you lose. :CCC (wow, did I just top your TMI?)

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better, but antibiotics *always* make me nauseous, so I know how not fun that is.

Oh, right! You broke your back. Yeah, that totally trumps my self-pitying whining and my TMI! Sometimes when I'm on the pity pot I need reminders that it could be much worse. So, thank you! Seriously!

I have decided to modify my antibiotic dosing schedule. (Especially because I think I'll need another course; the gunk in my one ear doesn't seem to be budging after 6 days on the stuff now, so I'm sure I'll be seeing the ENT in another day or two.) Instead of 500mg every 12 hours, I'm going to break it up into 250mg every six hours. We'll see if my tummy likes that better...

Did they mention anything about doing a sinus rinse? Yes, with those weird looking Neti pot things. It's helped me with sinus, and ear stuff before.

No, but I'm thinking that might be the next step. I went and bought myself some Mucinex at lunch, thinking that might help clear out the gunk. I hope so. I'd like to hear out of my right ear again one of these days...

I am genuinely sorry to hear that you're still not feeling well, but the comment about the kegal exercise made me laugh so hard (Also, it took me five attempts to spell exercise. Fail)

Talk about ‘Posts with sudden change in tone’. Lol.

Aside from antibiotic barfyness, I'm actually feeling a lot better. And since I had the brilliant idea of breaking up the two 500mg dosages into four 250mg ones, even the barfyness is greatly mitigated. The clogged, drippy ear and the coughing are irritating, though. Today, though, the ear was crackling and itching way down in there where you can't scratch, so I think, hope, pray that the gunk is starting to break up in there. I live in hope ( ... )

"Stay back! I have a 'U' and I'm not afraid to put it in the word color!"

"Now now, Nightwind, put the vowel down... We don't need to get Webster involved now."

The wanting to put a 'c' in front of the x in exercise is what gets me as well.

Hehe, you know you want to be British! Let yourself succumb to the scathing wit and bad teeth! Salad cream is all kinds of win. You could always make your own. Homemade can sometimes be better than bought, but Heinz is delicious.

And I do remember seeing Babycham this Christmas in the shops. Though, I didn't see it for years at one point. Thought it had gone the way of cheeseplants and corderoy in the 80's.

Then again, there are many American food stuffs that I'm curious about yet cant get over here. Like Twinkies and Corndogs. And Mountain Dew. Always curious about those, cause they're so ingrained in the media we get from America.

Heh heh... I used to stubbornly stick "u"s in words, a relic of my Irishness. But when I was an English teacher, I was obliged to stop, lest I confuse small, weak minds, so I got out of the habit.

But I can't be British even though I already have the bad teeth! I'd be lynched by my Irish relations! Not that I ever see them, of course...so they would never know that I'd mutated into a secret British person ( ... )

Uck... I saw your post about the ear infection awhile ago, but was too busy to post. Does not sound like fun! At least when kids get an infection, it does not seem nearly as miserable because they can not fully epxress their misery in detail. ;p

I do hope you get well soon!

And the kegels, I hear yah. *lol* I am a bit of slacker on those too, but it seems now I have to cough really hard to get that leakage. I have sort of taken up a not so noticable stance when I start coughing hard when standing up. I cross my legs in a cutesy-ditzy sort of fashion. ^^;

Oh, you just wait ten years, hon. Your leaky turn will come. ;) Ah, the indignities of being female...

Somehow I think ear infections are easier on kids. I got them when I was a kid, and I don't recall them making me miserable for very long. They hurt for a few days, then it was done. I don't recall not being able to hear. This kind of crept up on me, though; I had a sort throat one day, but I thought it was just allergy drip or maybe the start of a little cold. It went away, so I thought all was well. Then I woke up a morning or two later and could only hear a tiny bit out of one ear. It was...a little startling. Now it's just annoying.

Or more like, permanently leaky (As opposed to temporarily leaky as I am right now)? Yey! Although, I remember this unfavorable detail from my mom. She entered that Age during my highschool years.

I guess with kids, they are young and still growing, so their ability to get over the sickies is much faster too... compared to us older folk. ;p

As someone else who does not tolerate antibiotics well (I get nauseous, but have the tendency to need to race to the bathroom for the other end), I found that eating yogurt with the antibiotics helps. Don't know if it will work for you, but, it's something that's helped me.

(And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has problems with the word exercise, as well as with leakage.)

... And on that note, I probably should get ready for a walk...

Oh right! You do the middle of the night walk thing. That will prepare you well, if you and Mike ever decide to produce a pink squirmy thing...

Yeah, I do eat yogurt. It's been one of the few things I have been eating. I can't taste much of anything, so along with the nausea, food hasn't been very appealing. But yogurt is good because it's cold and throat-soothing. I'm also taking acidophilus supplements, in the hope of staving off antibiotic trots. :p

Aargh. Commiserations. And thanks for the note about the kegels. I did them religiously when I was pregnant, but when I pushed my son out in about twenty minutes (would have been faster if I was, er, stretchier), I decided that I must be pretty good down there and kind of let it lapse.

BTW, all the talk about chocolate caught my eye as I scrolled down. You should see if you have a British Shop near you. We have a lovely one near us that is stocked to the skies with over-priced British chocolate.
