photolation - Kutsushita Nyanko p.1+2
...GAH, if i weren`t so dead (tired) i`d write something nice.
on a whim i felt like trying to translate a manga scantilation-style. however, i don't have a scanner and the manga i wanted to translate is heavy in its usage of onomatopoeia... and i suck at onomatopoeia whether it be in English or Japanese, so combine all those things and this whimsical "project" ended up taking WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much time. x_x; as i don`t have a scanner, i photographed the manga-- thus the corny term "photolation". but the ink the manga is printed in, while beautiful in person, is EXTREMELY reflectant and so even busting out my awesome tripod so i could disable the flash on my camera didn`t stop the light from the celling light from glaring on the pages. D; gah, i gave up and got the best photos i could. then on to the onomatopoeia and Japanese having a sound for EVERYTHING IMAGINABLE, plus those sounds being heavily relied on in this manga. GAH. x_X;
so anyway... don`t laugh at my onomatopoeia translations. :`[ hopefully you get the gist from it.
and without further ado, may i introduce you to Kutsushita Nyanko, a rather prominent figure in the world of cat things in Japan. earlier this month he(?) made his debut in the manga world with his self-titled manga (shown to the left). FYI: "kutsushita" means "sock" and "nyanko" seems to be a common petname for cats (FYIx2: cats go "nya" in Japanese, not "meow"). anyway, read the first two pages of his manga below and you`ll have the answer to "wtf,`Sock Cat'??". :P
i hope atleast someone enjoys the manga... i wasted too much time on this. :`[ and i have 4 more pages already photoed and ready for cleaning/translating later if anyone can stand the crappiness and would like more...
