You may have had a lot of trouble writing it, but I think what you've turned out is really solid - the choppiness lends a lot of texture to it. Awesome.

Thanks. When I started I was really looking for something cohesive, but it wasn't working. I'm glad the scene jumping seemed to.

As I was writing that part I kept thinking about how to describe Tony's fighting style, and realised he's less into hitting things than making them hit themselves :D

oh, wow. This is great Tony voice. Really amazingly precise and there.

Fade until he can feel rough hands around his neck, holding him down even father.

Past the blackness. Past everything.

He comes up struggling. Breathing hard, inhaling vestiges of water up his nose as he half chokes on his third breath before everything evens out, and he's back to staring up at the softly lit ceiling.

Oh, thank you. I was worried about the voice. Tony is a character who I love writing dialogue for, but I struggled with the prose. I'm glad it worked out.
