I'm not sure WHY I've been struggling more with mania and mixed episodes, but I certainly am struggling.

I took an atypical antipsychotic for the first time in well over a year last night and I'm remembering why they are kind of the worst.

Antipsychotics suck. I was on Seroquel and the side effects were awful. I stuck it out for a year and then asked to discontinue it because it was messing with my periods. Now I take Neurontin instead. It's for seizures but apparently helps mania in bipolar disorder. I take it combined with Lamictal and I feel pretty good.

Seroquel did work but I'd get over sedated, started missing periods, and had horrible munchies that caused me to gain 10 lbs in a month.
