Until I leave to spend 20 days in Nicaragua. I am STOKED!! Not too worried about the current violent protests that are going on because of the increased bus fares (only about a $.03 increase in US currency but to a lot of Nicaraguans it could mean the difference between their kids' having or not having dinner that night) According to the news, ( Read more... )

And I am so proud of the work you are doing!! The children of Nicaragua have it really hard, and It just broke my heart when I went last year. I wish you luck on this trip. Hopefully the situation isnt as dangerous when you get back, and the buses get back to schedule. I have an uncle in Managua who runs a couple of buses, Maybe they are still running? If you need any assistance, I can call him and see if his buses are up and going.
If you want to add me you can go ahead. I can hear about my beautiful Nicaragua through you:)

Hi there! It's nice to meet you! You're right, the kids in Nicaragua do have a really hard life, but they are the most awesome kids! They are so happy despite their hardships and they are so thankful for every little thing you do for them. How long were you there when you went? Are you from Nicaragua originally?
I haven't heard the latest on if the buses are running again or not. Thanks so much for letting me know about your uncle!
I can't wait to get back down there on Tuesday! My 2 best friends are meeting me at the airport and then I will get to see all my kids back at the orphanage! I can't wait for all the hugs!!
Please do keep in touch! We can talk a lot about Nicaragua! It is such a beautiful country. I think God designed it after heaven!

Yes I was born there, Nagarote to be exact, its about 30-40 minutes south of Miami (I'm not sure of the logistics). My family and I lived there till I was 6. I am now 26, and I live in Miami, FL. Last time I went was a yr ago, and I was blown away at how gorgeous it is. THe food is also 100% better than it is here in FL.
