'Gathering Blue,' by Lois Lowry I found out was actually the pre-cursor to 'Messenger' so I read them out of order and kinda knew everything that was going to happen. Oops. Another story about a village wrapped in mystery where a great emphasis is placed on ceremony and earning one's name and title. I really like the way these books tie in to each
