I really don't see the point of the ipad as an ereader. It's enormous, I can't put it in my handbag, it weighs a lot more than a paperback so I won't want to read in bed or hold it up for any length of time, has a far shorter battery life than an ereader, and is going to get scratched to all buggery in a short time if I used it the way I do my ereader. I think the problem with iPad is it's a Swiss Army knife that forgot to include a blade. It can do a lot of things, but there doesn't seem to be a primary purpose in mind.

People are going to find a way to use it that suits them, but it's an odd situation to find the use after the design. I'm thinking the primary use will be portable media in general. Playing YouTube videos and TV shows online, that sort of thing.
