For those of you hooked on New Amsterdam, I found a fansite that lists upcoming episodes (and the airdates) and lots of other things of fannish interest. On the personal front, I'm trying to convince my DVR to cough up a finalized disc of the episodes it has on the harddrive so I can convert a friend. Right now, it's me = 0 and DVR = eleventy ( Read more... )

the channel formerly known as sci-fi, the joss, nathan fillion, breadbox editions, tv

Just when I thought I couldn't love Joss more, he goes and does something like that. *giggles*

I vote stick with the TPTB, but maybe single out a specific 'power' without naming names. I'm hesitant to give writing suggestions though, since my writing skill sucks so badly I can't even figure out what text to put on my icons.

I'm kinda glad you haven't started though, I still need to sit down and finish watching the end of SG1 before I watch Ark of Truth

Joss is just so very... Joss, isn't he? In fact, he's actually the inspiration behind some of the digs I have in mind for the AoT: BBE.

Even after watching, it will be a while before I can actually finish. Especially if there's not a movie transcript, and I haven't actually looked for one yet. I can do them from scratch, and have, but it's a lot easier if I'm working from a transcript onscreen than flipping back and forth between typing and watching to get the "real dialogue" and my fake stuff to mesh.

I watched the end of SG-1 with my friend I'll be watching AoT with. Neither of us cared for the whole Ori thing in the first place, so it made it more interesting to just snark at the screen together.

There will be a transcript at Solutions...sometime...whenever astrumporta and I get around to writing it (we're thinking of each taking half to spread out the burden). Right now we're playing rock paper scissors or something to figure out who does which half. Heh.

Ah, cool. That definitely makes my life easier, and I'll be giving y'all cred for it in the final product.

I can make notes without a transcript, but the actual typing is easier if I can just read what's happening instead of watching and trying to type at the same time.

I was accused of trying to write your Breadbox myself the other night. ;-)

I *think* PDL was the exec producer of AoT, but I may have dreamed that.

As long as you're not worried about the Bridge Mafia sending out enforcers to speak harshly to you, I'd say go for it, but as Moe Jacuzzi is a much funnier name I'd use that. :-)

The urge to talk back to your tv becomes overwhelming, doesn't it? Welcome to my world.

IMDB doesn't show PDL involved in AoT, but he has been working on some other Canadian shows, both in front of the camera and behind it.

Apparently he wasn't involved in SGA last season either. I hope that was his choice to work on other projects and not that he was forced out like Bridge is wont to do with their actors. Since he's doing a lot of work elsewhere, I don't think he's exactly hurting though. And he's looking pretty darn hot recently too. ;)

Should I watch a Sci Fi show featuring a haunted library, or just watch Ghostbusters for the eleventy-billionth time?

Watch Ghostbusters, you'll have more fun! BTW - did you know that the Moffatt episodes for the new series of are called 'Silence in the Library'? I'll be able to confirm properly when the Radio Times does it's usual DW blow out but other than a title... I know nuffink other than
Moffatt + Libraries = FTW!!ELEVENTY!

I hadn't heard the Moffatt title. Interesting. I imagine we'll get some good images and/or quotes for icons. ;)

Am I the only one thinking that we could use the Big Bad as a warning about what happens to you if you *don't* bring your books back on time?
Or 'No, we're not like that at all?!' (Does it show that I have to do student inductions?!).. carry on!

FTW on the icon front - not to mention cute man (i.e. #10)+lots of books = Beckymonster in her happy place!;)

You know, "Ghost Hunters" is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, because they do actually try and debunk, and the one guy reminds me of Michael Chiklis. I'm sadly looking forward to the library episode. *hangs head in shame*

As for Breadbox...I prefer the more generic TPTB rather than slams on particular individuals. I think in a way it gives you more license for the sarcasm without just getting into a direct mean attack that may undercut the message. Then again, I get turned off by the overly sharp meanness of your bitch muse sometimes. She's scary. ;-)

Oh, and I miss PdL's directing (though not his potty humor commentaries). MW may not be doing too many SGA ones either because of his commitments to "Sanctuary". :-( There's been no public explanation one way or the other about why PdL's no longer involved, so I don't know if it was his choice or just because of the two show downsizing.

[edited to clarify which he, and be more articulate, heh]

I used to watch a lot of stuff like Ghost Hunters, but these days there's so much to watch I can't keep up, so "reality" shows go to the "watch if there's actually nothing else on" list.

And yes, the muse is scary. But she's equal opportunity scary. ;)

I've often wondered if PDL was doing the potty humor stuff because he was bored. I think there ended up being only so many spots open between SGA and the movies, and those with seniority weren't going to let go of any of their control (or their paycheck) to let someone else have a turn.

But I think it works out OK, because he has been working on a lot of other shows, both as actor and TPTB. I like seeing him onscreen again in actual roles with lines, even if it's small parts like in Supernatural.

Hmm. I wonder *which* haunted library in Massachusetts. And if I've been there...

I know what *I'll* be watching! :)

I'm still waiting for AoT, but I imagine I'll wait to watch it until the weekend. I find that sad, since I used to anticipate the show so eagerly. I'd go with Moe Jacuzzi!, because The Unnamed PTB Who Can't Seem to Help Himself from Jabbing at the Fans he Doesn't Like Every Chance he Gets (or TUPTBWCSTHHFJATFHDLECHG) is much too long to handle.

One of the regional system librarians sent out a link a while back to a listing of haunted libraries. It talked about what type of hauntings they were and if they knew any history behind it. Too bad I didn't bookmark it. And I actually worked in a building down the street from the library (where the library was ages ago) that was rumored to be haunted.

I'm wondering how the movies will be "fanned over" online. Some watched the early release that wasn't intended to be out, some bought it immediately, some will watch it when they get around to it, some... might not even realize it's out if they're not actively in fandom anymore. It's very different from knowing that at a certain day and time, a large portion of the audience would be seeing the same thing at the same time and discuss it at relatively the same time.
