For those of you hooked on New Amsterdam, I found a fansite that lists upcoming episodes (and the airdates) and lots of other things of fannish interest. On the personal front, I'm trying to convince my DVR to cough up a finalized disc of the episodes it has on the harddrive so I can convert a friend. Right now, it's me = 0 and DVR = eleventy ( Read more... )

Sigh. I was disappointed (altho not surprised) by New Amsterdam tonight. So much for moral/ethical issues.

Joss Whedon is working on a musical

This cracks me up way beyond what it should. And I definitely want to see it.

As far as the BBE and TPTB are concerned... On one hand I figure JM has been *begging* to be tarred and feathered so why not direct the comments specifically at him. He deserves to be skewered. And yet, I hate to see that *mumblemumbleexpletivedeleted* get ANY more publicity than he's already cranking out himself. He's like a problem child--he sucks up any attention, good or bad. And yes, I am petty enough that I don't want him to get any attention (even if he never reads these).

I suppose I'd stick to generic PTB... and notice that not once did I address the ethical issue of humiliating a real person... kind of the way JM never bothered to care about humiliating real people ;-)

I'm sighing right there with you. I was so disappointed in the show. The hubby was nothing but a blip on the radar, and while I was only half watching, from what I could tell, she never really protested, "But I'm married, we can't do this."

I said something elsewhere about they might put in another twist like they have done previously, but I think they've lost me now. I'll keep recording it, but I'll be in no rush to watch now.

I definitely agree that JM's begging for being parodied, but you're right about not giving him the attention he thinks he deserves. I think I'll not name names, but leave it where it's quite obvious who and what I'm talking about.

Not only did she not protest, she initiated the first kiss :-( I knew the story was likely to go down this line eventually, but I sure would've liked to have seen them do something different, put a few twists in, before they did.

And I just saw that Arthur C. Clarke died, which is much sadder than another tv show playing the Twu Wuv of Destiny game.

It does seem like the storyline is moving at warp speed, though I guess they could still go the route of making it appear easy, then John finds out she's not The One.

I read that about Clarke. I don't recall if I read his fiction work (my tastes tend to run to fantasy), but I've seen him in a lot of science related shows over the years. So many things we take for granted these days were first envisioned in his works.

Obviously, I have no idea really, but I remember PDL saying that he wanted to get back into acting more and that was a while ago--around the time that he lost a whole lot of weight. I loved him on SPN, though the role was small. :-)

Personally, I like the Moe Jacuzzi thing. *g* OTOH, sometimes it's better to ignore the trolls and sometimes JM seems like a troll... So, I don't know. hehe

I loved seeing PDL on Supernatural. Small role, but a good one. I like seeing him in front of the cameras again, though I also enjoy his directing work too.

Is it bad that now I'm giggling over the association of JM as a troll working at Bridge? I may have to use that one. ;)

Mallozzi seems just the kind of prick to take notice, take it personally and take it to court. At a guess, I'd say you're totally covered by the parody clause, but could he make a case for defamation? Could you afford to debate it in court?

Yeah, he does seem like that much of a prick, though I doubt they're even aware I exist. I'm covered by parody as far as writing one about the show is concerned, but I'm not sure how that would relate to using real people in said parody.

Tam and I did a "Thelma and Louise" viewing of Ark of Truth today. We sort of felt like we were driving over a cliff. The Muse still hasn't processed it enough to really snark on it, but I honestly don't think there was a single thing in it that was in any way original.

It was a "homage" to previous episodes and other sources, and I really expected them to have a redux of one particular scene at the end, but I think Lucasfilm lawyers would so not approve of that bullshit.

The Internet Truck hit a friendly pothole, like, four days ago, and I still haven't watched it. Knowing as little as I do about it, it's a little sad that I'd still rather nap.

I've had it for about a week or so, but Tam and I decided the T&L route would make it a lot easier to watch. ;)
