I don't know if anyone's been following AfterElton's Torchwood recaps, but sometimes, they're screamingly funny.

Spoilers for Captain Jack Harkness )

the channel formerly known as sci-fi, stargate, torchwood, atwt, psych

Gah. I'm just seething right now. I had a nice, quiet evening planned watching Torchwood (last week's ep because I missed it being out of town for the weekend, and then the series finale) and guess which one of my gazillion cable channels has lost its feed? That's right, the ONLY one I wanted to watch tonight. All the other useless channels work just fine.

It's me, isn't it? They really are out to get me. ;-P

Yep, I think you're cursed, especially if you missed the one from last week. There's huge plot holes that could devour a whole sun, but you just don't care because of some of the payoff.

If you don't manage to find a repeat, let me know and, um... something shall be arranged. ;)

Luckily, the cable company managed to pull its head out whatever orifice it was currently residing and got BBCA back on in time for the late re-showing. And I see what you mean about the holes and the payoff. Boy do I love seeing slash on 'legit' tv ;-)

I also applaud Ianto's decision to shoot Owen.

From what I'm hearing, next season should send slashers into multiple spontaneous orgasms. Per episode. Seriously. Is it January yet?

I also applaud Ianto's decision to shoot Owen.

Oh my yes. I love my alpha!Ianto, but I do wish his target location had been different. ;)

I'm not going to say much because of spoilers but the season ender had me bawling like a baby. I didn't thin it would be any good concidering the squee from the Jack\Jack mega kiss. But Ianto and Jack's was sweeter. I'm happy that they did it in front of Owen. Ianto should have aimed for a kill shot there.

In all, it was a great ender.

I think the only thing that sort of bugged me was having Gwen be the one to "keep the faith" while the rest of the team had given up on Jack. I think this was partly a reflection of Gwen being the central character so much of the season, and also she was the one who'd had more time to get used to the idea he was immortal.

I would have really liked it better for the team to have taken turns, but I would have given anything for Ianto to have at least had a turn sitting there on his own. The actor's very good with facial expressions, so he wouldn't have had to say a word.

I'm really curious to see where they go with the next season, because while I have some reservations about some things in the first, I think maybe TPTB actually took notes and learned some things. I'm especially curious to know where Jack/Ianto will lead. We know it's canon, but is it a "casual shag" or something more?

Mmm roll on January for the new series!!

I was rooting for Ianto to shoot Owen, or anyone to for that matter.

I can't decide if they intended to make Owen so unlikeable or not. If they did, good job, if not... well.

I'm really looking forward to series two. I'm hoping they've worked out some of the kinks (hee!) from the first season.

I hope they managed to work some more kinks into the new Torchwood series, in the nicest possible way of course.....;)

Roll on xmas day for the Dr Who special with Kylie Mingue too. Anything that isn't Donna is fine by me!
