For those of you who were into Stargate slash fanfic, you're probably familiar with the fic archive Area 52. It went offline in 2017 and no one has been able to contact the site owner about moving the archive to AO3.

I accidentally came across COMET Tv, which is all sci-fi programming. It has an over-the-air presence, and it's also on Dish. On their web site, it says they're on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and more. It's free, other than some providers that require membership before you can access streaming channels.

The Alpha Gate is moving the fic archive to a collection on AO3. As part of the process, they're sending out emails to authors to get the OK for their fic to be moved, but unfortunately, some of them have bounced. Over at TeeFury today, they're having a "battle" between two shirts, one is yet another "Han shot first!" design, while the other is Stargate with a touch of Wizard of Oz.

At the moment, the Stargate shirt is in the lead, probably due in part to them having lots of Star Wars shirts in the past, but this is the first time I remember one for Stargate.

My day so far:

1. Answered question about why Richard Dean Anderson left SG-1.
2. Broke the news that not all deaths in SG-1 get a do-over (he was pissed they'd killed off Frasier).
3. Showed a new customer the manga section. Covered ears to protect them from squee.
4. Pimped AO3 after they mentioned reading fanfic.net stuff.

AfterElton has an article about "slashwink" which is something that I as a slasher for over two decades have never heard of before. From what I can tell, they're defining it as scenes that intentionally acknowledges the gay subtext instead of slashers just reading subtext only they can see.
