Had to get the graphic novel the movie is based on to compare. The writer, Mike Rucka, also wrote the screenplay, and that usually means it's going to stick closely to at least the concept. I'm not sure I want a graphic novel that's more graphic than that movie was! The movie was right around the limits of my tolerance for gore.

It's not exactly gory, just more obvious, if that makes sense. The art style is not heavy on the realism at all, so that removes a lot of the gory element for me.

Instead of showing a bullet hole in the head, they show a piece of the head missing in some cases, but it doesn't look any gorier than the T-1000 getting shot and melting back into place.

It's so hard to describe, and my Google Fu is failing me on finding an image as an example. Though I've come across the Van Scene several times. ::sigh::
