Unfortunately, I can't give it a miss. There's a slim chance my accidental OD on steroidal meds could have done something permanent, or maybe brought out something that was already there. I've had a heart murmur for as long as I can remember; most people do, it's just a matter of how bad it is.
Mother is doing much better, and should restart her vein treatment Monday. Father... is being his usual stubborn self and insists he's better (he's not) and won't go to the doctor. I think it's because the doctor he likes is out at the moment for a family issue, and he doesn't want to see another doctor at the practice.
He's been having trouble with it for decades, and flareups are unpredictable and unfun. Sometimes meds are prescribed, but if it gets very bad, surgery might be involved, and that's why he's avoiding the doctors.
Slowly but surely. We'll see how we manage after mom restarts her vein surgery schedule next Monday, and I have a stress test on Tuesday. I may have to take my cousins kids out on loan for a bit. :)
