Theoretically, Masterpiece stuff on PBS, but not really. They've already been watched (can't help it, they make us wait too long and I have friends who give me puppy dog eyes because they want to watch early too), but commentary commences.

Incomplete is a good word for it. I enjoyed it, but it felt so rushed to cram stuff in that they left a lot out.

What's been interesting is to see online news reporters saying it's because TPTB were playing to the fanbase and not to the more casual viewers. Such as the whole bit in the first episode about showing potential answer that were essentially fan answers both within the show and amongst the viewing fandom.

I saw it more as wanting to avoid a real answer because the fanbase would then tear it apart if it wasn't realistic and/or as good as what they've come up with on their own.

Personally, I wanted an answer, but looking back, I'm not surprised they didn't give one. I recall Moffat saying after the finale that out of all the speculation amongst fans online, they'd missed something important. I think now I know the answer. It was Moffat saying, "I can be a dick."
