American Idol gabbery...

I really can't help it--I am so addicted to reality music shows! Sigh, yet another year of American Idol under my belt. It was actually a pretty good year, and I was quite happy with the results finale last night. Yay for David Cook!! I was really not expecting him to win, there was just too much pimping of David Archuleta. Speaking of which, ( Read more... )

The TwoPers are just getting scarier and scarier with each passing day.

I would've been fine with either David winning but yay for Cook (I refuse to call him Cookie, EW).

Yes, an increasing portion of what passes for snark over there is just thinly disguised vitriol. I mostly continue to read it because there are the occasional interesting posts, or links to pictures or interviews. This season of AI, I had to really cut down on the amount I went over there just because I couldn't take the constant negativity.

I saw David Cook on Leno last night. What a cutie! He seemed so at ease, so comfortable up there with Jay. If he had any nerves he sure didn't show it. What a radical difference to what I imagine it would have been like if David A had won. There would have been lots of nervous laughter, lots of gosh's and gee's. I'm ok with that from him, because it seems like he is genuine and not fake-modest, but it doesn't make for the best interview, does it? Once more I was glad Cook won!

Hey hey! Look who's popping in! Nice to see you on LJ, Crunky!

I'm going to take a "wait and see" approach to D.C. Yes he is hoping to have a lot of say as to what goes into his album, but you know how these idol things go--sometimes what you want and what you get are two radically different things. To be fair, however, I think he has a good shot at making it sound more like who he is as an artist because he's had experience at recording already with his old band.

Oh, and by the way, in case you haven't read back any of my previous posts, I am officially a Winnipegger no longer--the family and I moved to Edmonton at the end of April! It's been interesting, to say the least, and we're finally getting somewhat settled...

Yeah I've had this for awhile but I don't really journal over here (I liked GJ better, and then they've gone downhilland given up on their own site, so we relocated to DJ where our RPing journals are, lol), mostly I just use this one for posting and reading LJ friends and groups and whatnot.

Yeah... I'm not jumping on it until we hear past the Idol Winner song, but he's certainly got a head start for me than any of the other AIs! I do own Kelly's most recent one, but I think I've only listened that once so far... whoops.

I saw! Man big step for ya! Has it been working out okay so far?

It's been a huuuuuuuuge step for us. So far we seem to be adjusting fairly well. I'm starting to be able to get around the city without being totally dependant on my map, which is good! We were worried about putting the girls into a new school with only two months left in the school year, but so far it's working out ( ... )
