Lying is uncool, Sheridan.

It's Friday, and I'm having thinky thoughts that have nothing to do with my job.

Said thinking was inspired by this post, made by liminalliz  for the Valentine's Day unchallenge.  There seems to be a consensus that it's beautiful but very, very sad and now we are all cryin' on a Friday.  My wonderful brain said, "I want to think thinky thoughts about that."

And it went a little something like this... )

But everyone dies, and people make promises to stay and never leave in the full knowledge that it's unlikely they'll pop off at exactly the same time as the one they're making the promise to ( ... )

My instinctual reaction was that this makes both of you better people than me. :)

I see your point, but I still totally would've brought it up later. "That thing you said? About not leaving me? Let's talk about that some more, huh?"

I have to wonder as upset and sad and depressed as she might have been, if she didn't think that she was lucky to have gotten him back for 20 years at all, considering what the alternative might have been.

Not that she still shouldn't have smacked him upside the head for not telling her sooner, and for deciding to tell her in the first place in the middle of a goddamned marriage proposal.

ITA about lying being uncool. Then again, these two have lots of potentially relationship-destroying issues they never bring up (Honey, I started the war!).
